Cannabis Benefits Without the “High”?
Is the claim “cannabis without effects” true? Many agree, cannabis is most commonly identified as a psychoactive compound. But it isn’t necessarily true! Cannabis can become a part of your health supplement intake without breaking federal law.
For those readers who need the comfort, yes, the FDA has approved CBD use. Furthermore, yes, CBD is federally legal as long as it doesn’t contain more than 0.3 THC. THC is the element that creates psychoactive effects. With CBD, you are not taking any risk of experiencing impairment! How? The answer may be simpler than you may think.

The Cannabis Compound
Cannabis, by its very nature, contains at least 113 identified chemical compounds. These compounds have been classified as “cannabinoids” for specificity purposes. Simply stated, cannabinoids are more commonly identified as cannabis. However, to a chemist or scientist, the term “cannabis” is far too simplified.Indeed, far too broad! But at trying to make it simplified for the average reader that hits this site, it will be referred to often as cannabis. And this article is intended to “simplify” the complexity of explanation that can easily evolve from the chosen topic at hand.

The chemical compounds that are present in cannabis are then broken down into an identifiable “class” of compounds. One class of chemical compound that stands out, at least as far as this posting is concerned, is called cannabidiol. What places this compound separate from many of the other chemical compounds found in cannabis is that cannabidiol is a major phytocannabinoid. About 40% of the total extract that can be taken from the plant source is cannabidiol.
The Cannabis Profile
The makeup structure, or profile as it were, of cannabis is broken down into two categories. First, there is cannabidiol. The abbreviation for it is CBD. The second category is tetrahydrocannabinol which is abbreviated as THC. Although each of these categories of plant by-product come from the same source plant, they perform very differently. Differently when it comes to causing psychoactive effects (or not) in the user. Most noteworthy, THC is the chemical compound that triggers psychoactivity in users. Thus, THC has become the most referenced compound when discussing cannabinoids in general.
About CBD Extract From Cannabis
Cannabidiol, otherwise more commonly known by its abbreviated form CBD, has become center stage recently. Due to the vast reports that CBD offers a variety of medicinal benefits to users. A claim that is gaining more attention as testimonials continue to grow. However, along with the medicinal and therapeutic effects, there is one key issue that seems to be absent.
Seems like CBD usage has no toxicity effect in users. Is this an over-statement? Hardly! The reason is simple. There is no tetrahydrocannabinol or THC measures in CBD- at least not beyond any real measurable amount. This purity from THC allows for CBD users to experience no psychoactive effects whatsoever! In other words, there is no “high” that is normally experienced from derivatives found in the host plant. It is a natural constituent of hemp. An oil that has also shown to offer health benefits.
